This spin can be used to follow the line of a break and allow the ball to gently follow it opposed to aggressively overcompensate. This subtle spin can be accomplished by knowing where to hit the ball with the putter. This is where the ball marker tools come in. they line up the ball in a bracket and they mark specific spots that can be worked on to get the results you are looking for.
